Tappeto Online

here is the story Since 1985-86 we have started to deal with Persian and Oriental carpets, initially in a cultural form by organizing exhibitions, exhibiting examples of Persian and Oriental carpets knotted by hand of particular value.

The particular curiosity shown by visitors for the craftsmanship of the carpets, pushed me to do accurate research to establish a more detailed story on the history and technique of the production of Persian and Oriental carpets, discovering the types of knots and production as well as the importance of materials such as wool, silk and cotton.

I also tried to delve into the nature of the colors and dyes used, together with the type of designs that make up the motifs, both are important phases in the production of a Persian Oriental carpet.

Among the most sought-after and famous examples are the Esfahan (or Isfahan) in wool and silk from the homonymous capital city of Persian culture, the Tabriz produced in the Azerbaijan region, the Nain created exclusively with wool and silk, and finally two other excellent names such as Kashan and Kerman known for their classic Persian motifs and various shades of red, which are now also designed in a modern style with contemporary motifs for minimal environments.

In 1990, at the end of my university studies, I decided to begin a commercial journey with carpets by opening a showroom in the center of Cinisello Balsamo in the Milanese hinterland. From that moment on, I began to present Persian and oriental carpets as handcrafted objects to embellish and complete the furnishings of a home, trying to communicate with the tastes of my customers and potential customers, presenting always particular designs and colors to help them choose with taste and, at the same time, make them appreciate the artistic and artisanal values of these carpets.

After becoming the reference point for Persian and Oriental carpets in Lombardy, we decided to expand our horizons by integrating our site with an e-commerce to reach places outside of Lombardy and allow the online purchase of our carpets throughout Italy and Europe.

With our e-commerce “Tappeti Persiani e Orientali Online” we continue to communicate the news and history of our carpets through our blog and our online offer, also offering a washing and repair service, which are very important for the maintenance of a carpet.
