LORI carpet: Lorestan is a region located in the west of Iran with tribes of men and women who are carpet weavers.
The motifs of Lori rugs are subjective and the weavers use their imagination to create them. This is the reason why it is sometimes possible to notice small differences on two similar rugs. Some main designs are in paisley motif, vases and trees, corner medallions and multi-panel.
One of the main features of Lori rugs are the color choices. Tribal women while moving from one place to another collect plants that will be useful for dyes. This is how the tribes dye their threads naturally. Recently more chemical colors are being used for carpet production in the Lorestan region, especially if the carpet is in red, light and dark blue, green, orange and yellow.
