YALAMEH carpet: Yalameh is an area south of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari which is a nomadic territory in Iran. The occupation of the nomads of Yalameh is the knotting of carpets, along with other activities. Yalameh carpets come from this area and from nearby cities that have slight differences in techniques and designs based on the tribes that knot them. The designs of Yalameh rugs are the combination of geometric patterns with broken lines and linear motifs.

Due to the environmental location of the Nomads, the carpet designs are generally similar to each other, however, in the Yalameh carpets, the floral designs of the Bakhtiari carpets are not used. The design of the Yalameh carpet is mostly influenced by the Ghashgai designs in the shape of repetitive lozenges. Recently the multi-frame design is becoming popular among nomads who knot Yalameh rugs and their significant character is the odd number of these frames both horizontally and vertically.
