YALAMEH Carpet : Yalameh is an area south of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari which is a nomadic territory in Iran. The occupation of Yalameh nomads is carpet knotting, along with other activities. Yalameh carpets come from this area and neighboring towns that show slight differences in techniques and designs according to the tribes that knot them. The designs of Yalameh carpets are the combination of geometric patterns with broken lines and linear patterns. Due to the environmental location of the Nomads, carpet designs are generally similar to each other, however, in Yalameh carpets, the floral designs of Bakhtiari carpets are not used. The design of the Yalameh carpet is mostly under the influence of repetitive lozenge-shaped Ghashgai designs. Recently the multi-frame design is becoming popular among nomads who knot Yalameh rugs, and their significant feature is the odd number of these frames both horizontally and vertically.
